Elwell Farm offers you a full range of livery choices for your horse. If you’re away from the area a lot, then full-time care might be a good option, while some of our customers prefer us to provide part-time livery during the working week, but enjoy coming in and doing their own livery over the weekend. Others have more time, and like to pop in and do their own “DIY” livery themselves every day.
Whatever your personal circumstances, we pride ourselves on being flexible and can offer a livery service extending from just one day to any longer period, letting you take a holiday, go shopping or perhaps have relatives to stay without having to make the twice-daily trip to the stable.
Because Elwell Farm specialises in breeding and competing Arab horses in endurance events you’d expect us to have a full range of facilities, and you won’t be disappointed! You and your horse can take full advantage of the following:

Our all-weather floodlit arena - this can be booked at any time, with or without a range of optional jumps that can be set up by you or our team.

We have an experienced teacher who visits us most days to help you get the best out of yourself and your horse. Basic riding, dressage and jumping lessons are all available

Elwell sits in a glorious rural setting, with excellent hacking either on roads or across country. Within the farm boundary there are gallops to allow your horse to let off steam, and there are also tracks ideal for pottering along when it’s too hot to trot.

Sometimes the weather lets us down, but you can still exercise your horse in our custom-built walker, fitted out with a rubber floor and full safety features. With space for up to five at a time, it’s a great way of getting horses moving in the fresh air when ice or rain makes hacking out difficult or impossible.

Whenever the weather is kinder, you can put your horse out to pasture in our lush meadows, all with water-feeds and secure fencing.
The welfare of your horse is very important to us, so while he or she is in our care we will make sure that they are safe and comfortable. Included in the price of all our livery options are bedding (straw or shavings), haylage, pasture and water.
Special feeding regimes can be catered for, and we also offer fitness training, clipping, and hunter turnout.
If your horse encounters any kind of medical problem during his stay with us, it’s always good to know that veterinary support is at hand. You can, of course, arrange for treatment from your own vet but if this isn’t practicable we have a general veterinary practice within a ten-minute drive of the farm, and a specialist equine
practice on call a little further away that is available 24/7 to deal with horse-specific or more
serious health problems.
